I have been studying the life of Louisa May Alcott
(whom I am sure we all know, from being the authoress, of "Little Women"), and have found that keeping a journal, and writing overall, was encouraged very much by her mother.
She wrote once to Louisa, whom she called "Louy."
"Dear Louy, your handwriting improves very fast.
Take pains and do not be in a hurry. I like to have
you make observations about our conversations and your
own thoughts. It helps you to express them to and to
understand your little self.
Remember, dear girl, that a diary should be epitome of your life.
May it be a record of pure thought and good actions,
then you will indeed be the precious child of
your loving mother."
So that is how, I have in a way, been inspired for the day.
I love the way that the mother, wrote to her daughter that, that is the way in which we should all encourage one another.
Hebrews 3:13
| But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today... |

I know, I love the movie from, what was it 1994?
ReplyDeleteBut I was reading an article from girls home companion, and I guess that it is so much deeper then the movie. My favorite book from Louisa may Alcott though, is An Old Fashioned Girl.
